Thriller planning DRAFT.
Sunday 24th January- First official day of filming. This was due to a fellow group member unfortunately dropping out of six form and delaying the filming. This day was to be used to shoot the outside shots of the femme fatale (Holly Delany); we still need to come up with character names. We spent a couple of hours working through the storyboards and filming. The lighting was late day, and the consequence to it being winter made it much darker for the time of day. However the film will be edited to noir lighting. The costume of the femme fatale (devious woman) is a fur coat with tights and short high heels with a small black clutch bag.A film which has been a big influence on our film is "THE THIRD MAN", this is because it is set around the same era so the costume can be similar. The settings are also similar- wet cobbled streets. The characters can be similar as well as our film has a 'femme fatale' (devious woman) as has The Third Man.I have contributed to the thriller film. I found the soundtrack which is going to be used and filmed a third of the filming which will be shared equally between me, Sabrina and Ryan Mills. The song was from youtube but i transferred it to mp3. The bedroom scene will be shot in a room in my house. Some of the costumes have been helped by me and some of my props have been used as well.

Thriller planning location shots DRAFT

These pictures were taken by Sam Rogerson and Ryan Mills who are in my media group for the thriller filming. The noir lighted shot of the cobbled street conveys our future filming as it will be shot in noir lighting. The cobbled streets are always wet which are conventions of the thriller genre. The location of the pictures is Elm hill. Some of the shots are claustrophobic such as the church window.
Prelim Task analysis DRAFT
This task consisted of one person walking through a corridor, entering a room and sitting down; to then have a conversation with another person. The short scene in which we filmed contained around 9 shots. A 180 degree rule had to be applied. This guild line for filming says that two characters in the same scene must have the same left/right relationship to each other. However, if the camera passes over an imaginary axis joining the two subjects, it is then called crossing the line.

The short film uses match-on action-which works, due to background music quieting down for speech. After the match-on action, shot-reverse shot is used in the rest of the footage. The editing is smooth, which was difficult to complete due to many errors, and unsteady camera shots that needed to be cut out. The shots include: low angle, close up, medium shot, over the shoulder, long shot, point of view shot, third person, canned and tracking. These shots work extremely well as they blend into each other without fault.
